I've fallen in love with Guatemala..everything about it,the people, the culture and it's going to be extremely hard to leave...Was very anxious leaving ruth behind me, but ive enjoyed every second here.Ive even made guatemalan friends, crazy ones! It's such a relaxing city and where were stayingis fabulous too, fresh fruit for breakfast every morning and I wake up to sunshine.Went partying on Saturday night, lots of fun and had a great day yesterday too.Tomoro im starting work in an orphanage of ten children between the ages of 1 and 12 in a little village about a half an hour bus ride away from where i am...im really excited about it even though i know it will be tough going. The children were either abandoned or abused so im imagining it will be emotionally demanding. Will be working from 8to5 everyday...im lucky that i can speak spanish because they wouldnt have allowed me to work there otherwise. So an early start tomoro. There's only one other volunteer there apparently.Depending on how this week at the orphanage goes ill be leaving here in a week or so and heading for Nicaragua...then Panama. The days are flying by unfortunately only 1 month left now.Making the most out of everyday though!
